Speedwatch

         

Welcome to Nuthurst Speedwatch

Speedwatch is a Nation wide police initiative using local community groups to monitor drivers’ speed on the local roads.  Drivers exceeding the speed limit will receive a notification from the police warning the recipient to be mindful of their speed. A further recorded infringement could result in a less friendly warning,  A third infringement within a year could lead to some unpleasant consequences  !!. The Insurance, MOT and Tax will also be checked for compliance each time.

The Nuthurst Speedwatch group was set up in 2019 and since then has carried out over 300 Speedwatch sessions across the parish of Nuthurst in West Sussex. Our aims are to:

a)   Persuade drivers to abide by the speed limits

b)   Persuade WSCC to reduce the 40mph speed limit on the A281 to 30 mph and

c)   Reduce the national speed limit on parts of the rural roads in the Parish in accordance with recent the recent Government published document.
